Welcome to Youth Ministry
“Growing Youth and young adults in Faith”
Youth and Young Adult Ministry is focused on developing inspired and engaged students in middle school, high school, and early adulthood. Our goal is to prepare them for a faithful life filled with hope and a vision for their future. We inspire, develop, and grow a faith-based community of youth within MPC by encouraging them and giving them opportunities to fellowship and serve together. We recognize and encourage the individual talents of every youth and help prepare them for life’s challenges through the teaching and practice of the christian faith. Our program nurtures a compassion and acceptance of ALL people and provides a safe community for youth to be themselves, feel accepted, and be affirmed among peers and mentors.

Youth Programs
Youth Groups: On Sundays, youth share a meal and laugh together while building real relationships with one another and with Christ through games, fellowship, outings, and a lot of fun!
Lighthouse: On Wednesdays, Lighthouse is a time to talk about life and learn how to be a light in the darkness, as Christ says in Matthew 5:16,“...let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.”
Music Ministry: Middle-schoolers may participate in music programs on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. High-schoolers may rehearse with the Chancel Choir on Thursday evenings at 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. for Sunday mornings. Additionally, both middle and high school students may audition for the contemporary worship team at the 9:00 a.m. service, with rehearsals scheduled for Thursdays at 4:30 p.m.
Confirmation Class: As eighth-graders consider the important decision to become members of Memorial Presbyterian Church, they engage in classes that are thoughtfully led by our dedicated associate pastor.
Fall Weekend Retreats: Middle School Youth Group and High School Youth Group each bond over challenge courses and games amidst nature. Our most recent retreats have been to Camp Henry in Newaygo, Michigan.
Children’s Christmas Eve Pageant: All join in this favorite MPC tradition! In a living nativity, youth help to lead children through the story of Christmas.
Winter Weekend Retreat: Youth enjoy a winter getaway on the slopes for cool winter sports.
Spring Break Mission Trip: High-schoolers experience an amazing week of service, reflection, and fun.
Cedar Point Day Trip: Youth celebrate the start of summer in fellowship at the roller coaster capital of the Midwest.
Montreat Youth Conference: High-schoolers travel to North Carolina for a summer event to worship, explore, and connect with other youth from across the country.
Pool Party: Youth end the summer on a high note at the Midland Country Club.
Youth Sunday: Worship services are organized by youth to give them an opportunity to share their latest adventures and how they are growing in their faith.
