Welcome to Worship
Teams rotate duties every four weeks and provide a welcoming and inviting presence at each worship service. Duties include entrance hosts (greeting at the Allen St. and Assembly Room entrances for the 9:00 a.m. worship service and at the Allen Street, elevator, and Narthex entrances for the 10:45 a.m. worship service) and service hosts during the 9:00 and 10:45 a.m. worship services (handing out worship guides, ushering, offering collection, after-service greeting, and Assembly Room/Sanctuary cleanup).
Praise Team
Open to all ages and is comprised of vocalists and instrumentalists, the Praise Team supports and enhances the 9:00 a.m. worship experience by providing meaningful contemporary music.
Chancel Choir
This non-auditioned ensemble is comprised of high-schoolers and adults who support and enhance worship services and events with music of varying styles and musical periods. Music education scholarships are available to high-schoolers and college students who are committed to service with the Chancel Choir. The choir leads music every Sunday during 10:45 a.m. worship and meets weekly to rehearse.
Student Scholar Program
At Memorial Presbyterian Church, our Student Scholar music program is open to high school and college students who are willing to provide a model of excellence in choral singing and dedicated choral membership. The time commitment consists of Sunday worship services from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, Thursday rehearsals from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., and personal score study. Scholarship funds are to be used for musically enriching activities and advancements like lessons, camps, choir trips, instruments, and tuition. Student Scholars become Chancel Choir members and are under no obligation to become church members. Based on expectations and experience, we offer three tiers of scholarship. Children’s and Youth Choirs
Choirs for children and youth meet weekly to experience music education, rehearsal, and performance in worship and in the community.
Bell Choirs
Bells of Praise is our intermediate bell choir supports and enhances worship services and events and meets weekly to rehearse. Covenant Ringers is our advanced bell choir to supports and enhances worship services and events and meets weekly to rehearse.
Audio-Visual Ministry
AV orchestrates the live stream of the 9:00 and 10:45 a.m. worship services and operates audio and visual aids to worship in both services and during special events. AV enhances and brings the worship experience to the congregation with the assistance of new technologies.
