Children’s Ministry

Welcome to Children’s Ministry

“Growing Children in Faith” at MPC

Our children experience safe, age-appropriate environments where they learn about Jesus in a creative and relevant way.

Sundays

Nursery Care | 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon

Newborn to Age 3: Young ones have fun in the nursery with excellent caregivers. Regular attendance is recommended for smooth adjustment.

Children’s Sunday School | 9:00 a.m. & 10:45 a.m.

Preschool Age 3 to Grade 5: Children begin attending worship with their guardian. Children in the 9:00 a.m. worship service leave for Sunday School after singing and prayer. Children in the 10:45 a.m. worship service leave after participating in singing, prayer, and children’s message.

Safety and Security: MPC requires volunteers to sign a Safe Child Policy outlining necessary safety procedures like the rule of three. Staff members and volunteers undergo a background check.

Snack: Children are offered fruit snacks and water if needed during our time together.

First-Time Visit: Please accompany your child to Sunday school on their first visit. Your will fill out a Child Registration Form, other forms, and learn about pick-up and other policies.

Curriculum: In a kid-friendly way, your child learns the same Bible story that you are focused on during worship.

Other Visits: You are always invited to observe your child in the class.

Meet Children’s Ministry Director Kindra Silk Kreislers

Kindra earned a Graduate Certificate in Theopoetics and Theological Imagination from Bethany Theological Seminary, focused on using creativity and writing to communicate truths of faith to children, as well as to empower parents to lead their children at home. She graduated from Saginaw Valley State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Art and minor in psychology, and she was an elementary school art teacher for several years after graduation. For the last 15 years, Kindra has faithfully served as a leader across several ministries at her home church in Saginaw, primarily focused on college students and families. She is a published author and is currently working on a book called Children’s Bible Stories: Simple Truths. Kindra also has a blog at www.kindrasilk.com called Pioneering the Legacy in which she shares ways for parents of young children to grow their seeds of faith. Her favorite quote is by Howard Macey, “The spiritual life cannot be made suburban. It is always frontier, and we who live in it must accept and even rejoice that it remains untamed.”
